Our students are primarily the children of expatriates working in Embassies and in the oil and construction industries. AST is a multicultural community with a current student population that includes 34 different nationalities.

Students speaking little or no English may be admitted to Pre-K - grade 1. Students in grades 2-5 need to have some experience with English. Students in grades 6 and above must have already studied English. All students who are not native English speakers will be tested to ensure that, with the ESL support provided by AST, they can be successful in our program.

There is no program at this time to serve students with learning issues.

Because many students are used to moving and changing schools, the students are very welcoming and extremely supportive of each other.
